Expressions

The French expressions used by Menorcans are as follows:

• "Merci":Commonly used in Menorca to say thank you.
• "Rendivú": From the French word <<rendez-vous>>. \nTranslated, it is to meet someone or have an appointment. However, in Menorca it is used rather contemptuous way to say that someone is \"kissing someone's backside\".
• "Velo": From the French word <<vélo>> \nA word used in Ciudadela and Ferreries meaning the same as in French: bicycle.
