Comfort and Fun
For all those who choose to visit Menorca with the intention of tanning, immerse themselves in the turquoise waters and disconnect from all the stress they are subjected to in their daily lives in their respective cities of origin, the best option is undoubtedly to enjoy all the comforts that offer the Menorca beaches with services. Rentals of sunbeds and umbrellas, showers, guard posts, boat rentals (kayaks, pedal boats) and beach bars are some of the many services available to tourists on these beaches.
Many beaches have the Blue Flag, an award granted by the European Foundation for Environmental Education to beaches and ports that meet a series of environmental conditions and facilities. The criteria on which they are based to grant the Blue Badera are divided into 4 areas: bathing water quality, information and Environmental Education, Environmental Management and Security, Services and Facilities. Spain is the country with the most blue flag beaches (587) followed by France with 400. Menorca, as of 2017, has 7 blue flags out of 45 in the total of the Balearic Islands. The Menorca beaches with this distinction are Cala Galdana, Son Bou, Cala en Porter, Punta Prima, Puerto de Ciutadella and Puerto de Fornells.
To bear in mind: In general, the Menorca beches with services are located in urbanizations. This implies that they have a high degree of occupancy and that, in summer, the hotels surrounding them are complete. Therefore, we recommend that you book your accommodation as soon as possible.
On the other hand, another very important fact to take into account when choosing an urbanization in which to enjoy your holidays, is that the beach closest to your hotel has access for the disabled. In this way, if you travel as a family and one of your family members has a disability or needs to use a baby cart, you can find your own space to get to the beach. Below we detail the beaches that have this access.
