Along with formatjades, flaons are probably the most popular Menorcan pastry during the Easter period. They are made with the same dough as formatjadas, but filled with grated soft cheese, egg and a little salt, which is shaped like a ball and placed inside the flaó dough and then turned into the form of a star.
