Formatjades

Formatjadas are undoubtedly one of the most popular and traditional products of our island, and are similar to what we know in Spain as empanadas. Their pastry is usually filled with lamb or pork, bacon cubes or bits of tender sobrassada. It can also be filled with chicken. The shape of the pastry is like a round dumpling. Formatjadas used to be eaten at Easter, but due to their great popularity, they are now eaten all year round.
